Questions about the fellowship
This fellowship is designed for people residing in Lisbon who want to learn about AI safety and how they can contribute to the Lisbon AI Safety Hub and our goal of bringing about safe AI. If you are not based in Lisbon or planning to move here before the start of the fellowship, this is not the right course for you, but we would be happy to recommend you other options.
All sessions are held in person in Lisbon, around a 10 minute walk from Entrecampos station and ISCTE.
No, all participants are required to attend classes in person.
No, at this time we are unable to provide any financial support for accommodation, travel or any other expenses. Participants are expected to be already residing in Lisbon and able to cover their own travel costs.
The course material is largely based on the AI Safety Atlas and participants will be able to complete coursework and readings on a dedicated platform created by Lens Academy. We will explore risks, capabilities, strategies and more. Participants can expect around 2 hours of work per week along with 2 hours of in-class discussions and study. We will follow this format for six weeks, with the last two weeks being guest lectures from AI safety experts.
All participants will receive a certification of completion from Lens Academy. We are currently working on opportunities for exceptional graduates to work on specific projects in AI safety in collaboration with mentors. All graduates will also receive lifetime career guidance on how to make an impact on AI safety, and lifetime free membership to our events. The end of the fellowship marks the real beginning of our work together to try to create safe AI futures.
